More Info on the Honor Killings in Canada

Zainab Shafia, the 19-year-old daughter among those women killed in the honor killing that has dominated Canadian news recently, had a boy friend whose name, Ammar Wahid, suggests he was Muslim. Of course, people can’t always be neatly pigeon-holed by their names, but it looks like the problem was that she had met someone on her own whereas her parents wanted an arranged marriage. See here.

What’s stupid about this and similar situations is that there is a leftist solution to it: sensitivity training. Every immigrant to the West should be required to have it, and for countries whose culture is very distant from Western culture the immigrants should have lots of it. Nor should the authorities be hesitant about sending home those who seem unlikely to ever fit in.
