Charles N. Steele

Leftists frequently say things they do not really believe, IMO. At least *some* of them must see the contradiction in demanding the firing of professors who voice non-leftist opinions outside of the classroom, while simultaneously claiming that it is a violation of free speech not to hire someone who voices awful leftist opinions.

Their profession of free speech is camouflage; they really want to suppress all dissent and enforce conformity, but it sounds better if they can claim it's just "free speech" they are after.
