Still Clueless After Two Years in an Iranian Prison

The two American men recently freed from an Iranian prison turn out to be fans of Noam Chomsky and Hugo Chavez, whom they thanked after their release. See here. The fact that it took two years of negotiations to get them out, despite the efforts of leftists, should tell them something important about the nature of this regime, as should the screams they heard from other prisoners. In other words, it’s horribly reactionary, and there's no good reason for leftists to support it.

By the way, anyone who knows anything about the Iranian regime knows perfectly well that it, to use leftist terminology, hates women. So why, when sending an appeal to the regime to release the hikers did leftists allow it to be signed by some women? Does Gloria Steinem have any sway over these people? Noam Chomsky, yes, but Steinem? Unbelievable. This is as stupid as the incident in the 1980s when the Reagan administration sent a Bible as a gift to Ayatollah Khomeini. So much for leftists thinking of themselves as smarter than the Republicans.
