Douches

The confusion over what to call our newest enemy – ISIL, ISIS, or IS (for the Islamic State) – has been resolved! In Arabic an acronym of one of their names has emerged: daesh. (See here for a discussion of the derivation.) In Arabic newspapers, I’ve seen it referred to as either the Islamic State or daesh. Anyway, see this post where a discussion on reddit eventually led to the idea that “douche” was the best way of referring to them. They don’t like daesh, so I’m sure they won’t like douche either. Tough.
