This was a movie I saw in 1968. See here for an amusing discussion of it. The author of the post at the link doesn’t remember this movie, but I do. It was pretty awful. The ads said that if you were young, you would want to see it, and if you were old, you’d better see it. The movie shows lots of young demonstrators demanding a lowering of the voting age, then when that effort succeeds, young people (in the majority back then) vote in a young man to be president. He does some progressive things, but also has concentration camps in which the elderly are forced to take LSD. Well, that showed the whole story was not to be taken seriously. And if you still didn’t get that message, in the last scene the young president is mean to some kids under ten, after which they vow to get revenge on everyone over the age of ten.
I think if I had gone in knowing it was a big joke, I might have enjoyed it more.
