In case you are new here, let me elucidate the suicidal tendencies of the left. (I’m talking about the left as it exists today here in the West. The left in the past was somewhat more sensible, as are today's leftists outside of the West.) The suicidal tendencies revolve around their insane attitudes toward Muslims, whom they revere as some kind of victimized gods of the Third World, despite the fact that plenty of people throughout history have been victimized by Muslims.
Begin in 1979 with the slaughter of leftists in Iran by Muslims. As the British progressive Nick Cohen puts it, “the Islamists murdered tens of thousands of leftists, perhaps up to 100,000, after the 1979 Iranian Revolution” [Waiting for the Etonians, p. 118]. A decade later this madness came to the West in the form of a death sentence against a harmless author, Salman Rushdie. There followed the murder of Theo van Gogh, the massacre of the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists, the shooting at a gay bar in Orlando, and many other lesser incidents. Unlike the recent attack on Christians in Sri Lanka, these attacks targeted leftists or presumed leftists. No one should be in doubt that Muslims think of leftists as worthy of attack, despite all the support leftists in the West have given them.
So, the basic message we are hearing from leftists goes something like this: “We must let in lots of Muslims so they can eventually turn on us and kill us and turn all of the West into an ultra-conservative theocracy where women and non-Muslims are second-class citizens, gays are in the closet, and secularism is dead.” Needless to say, this is suicidal. And if it’s not intended to be suicidal, then it seems to be infused with an astonishing degree of denial.
So, take your pick: leftists are either suicidal or in denial.
