Charles N. Steele

Never mind the rise in tuition (the poor have long since been driven away), all of this detracts from actual learning, which is the value of going to college.

And yet more important, none of these will satisfy the activists. No amount of programs, concessions, entitlements, etc. can alleviate their unhappiness. Their problems are inside them. They see themselves as victims, not as self-directed responsible individuals. No matter what others do, it can never be enough. It's not what others are doing or not doing that bothers them, at heart, it's their own interpretations that make them feel victimized. Until they remove the logs from their own eyes, chasing specks elsewhere will do them no good.
