If California were to secede, would all the illegal immigrants stay there -- no doubt they would be given full citizenship -- or would they decide that California was becoming just as bad as the place they left and go to some other state?

Illegal immigrants come hoping to find a first world country, not a different third world dump.
Not only would they leave, so would most Californians.
