My hometown is Alexandria, Virginia, which means I attended Fairfax County schools in my youth. Fairfax used to be nationally ranked as one of the most academically rigorous counties in the nation. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Same goes for my undergrad alma mater, Georgetown, which is up the road in DC, about 14 miles from my hometown. GU has gone completely woke these days; as a Jesuit school, it used to be a formidable bastion of aggressive intellectual inquiry (hence the running joke about "Just how Catholic are we at Georgetown?"). No longer, it seems. What a shame, and what a waste.

Yes, too bad about Georgetown. My grandfather got a law degree there
