It goes without saying that the left hates the far right, yet it seems unable to avoid acting in ways that help its rise. Here, for example, is an article about an important figure in France (Eric Zemmour) who is on the far right, but who is also Jewish. Liberal and leftist Jews hate him, calling him an Islamophobe. But it has to be admitted that a number of Jews in France have been killed by Muslims, so it makes a certain amount of sense that a Jew would gravitate to the far right, which doesn't want to let Muslims in. So, what’s the problem? Well, those left-of-center Jews for some crazy reason like open borders, so they have helped bring these people here and presumably want more brought in (despite their obvious anti-Semitism). The simple way to deal with this situation, aside from not having them let in in the first place, is to not just say to Muslims that you will protect them from Islamophobes, but to also say to non-Muslims that you will protect them from Muslims. That should tamp down on a lot of “Islamophobia.” Yet, leftists (whether Jewish or not) refuse to take this tack. Why?
The reason is, I guess, that that would immediately invite the question, “If they can be dangerous, why are they here in the first place?” And leftists don’t want to get into a discussion about that, nor do they want to acknowledge that Muslims can be dangerous to Westerners. It is far better for the left to be on the attack by calling us racists than for us to question their wisdom in allowing our enemies in.
