One of the obvious facts about life in America today is the level of hate that poor whites have directed at them. For example, people I meet who seem pleasant and kind and tolerant get terribly angry about those who haven’t been vaccinated. Clearly, they are not angry at the many blacks and Latinos who haven’t been vaccinated. No, it’s the poor whites who won’t do so who get them enraged.
Yet, somehow this hatred doesn’t count toward making the Democratic party into a hate group. Why not? It’s because of the power imbalance. Only the Democrats get to declare who is and who isn’t in a hate group. Today, poor whites are in danger of being disenfranchised by the elites, who believe that they are far more racist than they actually are. Yet, somehow our elites see themselves as good and kind, and they put up signs saying that “hate has no place here,” even though they are obviously seething with hate.
One could mention a bunch of other things that elites get to define, such as racism, democracy, white supremacism, and so on. Again, they can do this without much pushback (that they are aware of) from the power imbalance.
Yes; these people who put up “hate has no place here” are seething with hatred. It is not normal to boast one has no hatred. Normal people don’t do this. It’s line Google having the motto “don’t be evil” (and then later abandoning it!) It’s as if someone is boasting “not a serial killer.” Good, but why do you feel it necessary to tell us…would there be some doubt otherwise?
And meanwhile, these elites accuse everyone else of the thing they are denying. Projection. And yes, abuse of power.
