From Kurt Schlicter at Townhall (here):
Word is that there was a recent classified briefing for senators on Iranian capabilities and the solons staggered out of it pale and scared.
Isn’t this what our elites have wanted, a powerful Iran? Why they have wanted such a thing is beyond me. Iran as the world’s superpower would be the death blow to, say, feminism, gay rights, and secularism. Yet one doesn’t hear a peep of protest from these groups.
Schlicter then adds:
But don’t worry, we can unleash a withering barrage of pronouns that will put those Shia fanatics in their place. And we totally outgun them all in “diversity, inclusion, and equity,” so we’ve got that going for us, which is nice.
We’ve been a superpower for so long that the woke take that for granted and assume that it will continue. But there’s no reason why it should, and any foreigners hoping to displace us must be very happy hearing that we are trying to make our armed forces woke and not combat-ready.
I fear the U.S. will be defeated soon. I have no idea what that looks like, but it won’t involve enemies invading or bombing us. That’s 20th Century warfare.
Wrecking our power grid, hacking our financial system, defeating our military abroad, or even more likely acting as if ours is nonexistent, demonstrating the U.S. is impotent… we are about to realize the U.S. is a paper tiger.

Yes. At the very beginning, it means not being able to help foreigners we want to help, like women in Afghanistan. After that, things get worse.
