Does anyone really believe that gas prices are high because of Putin? Most of us, I think, saw them rise before he began his invasion. So, why are the Dems trying to spin this? Do they really think that people don’t remember? Do they actually believe it themselves?
They are much better off spinning something that is harder to disprove. I, for example, think that had Trump been president, the invasion of Ukraine wouldn’t have happened, for a variety of reasons. Trump is a deal-maker, and he would have figured out a deal that both Ukraine and Russia could live with. Biden, however, doesn’t have any particular talents in that area. Trump’s slogan was Make America Great Again, which sends the signal that he wanted us to be strong and not weak. Biden has done a bunch of things that send the signal that America is weak. Trump encouraged us to pump a lot of oil, which kept the price low which in turn meant lower profits for Russia, while Biden and the environmentalists have done the exact opposite, which enriched Russia and gave them more money for foreign adventures. Yet, I recently read a liberal’s column (can’t remember where) who felt glad that Biden was president and not Trump and that Biden’s leadership was so helpful in this awful situation. Incredible, but then these people live in a bubble, so I suppose that’s all they hear.
One thing about spin that wasn’t true twenty years ago is that so many more people now are willing to seek out alternative sources of information that people like Biden just can’t say things and get away with them like they used to. The mere fact that Trump got elected in 2016 shows this, because the ruling-class media did nothing other than criticize him. I assume that the media’s power has only waned since then.
“Biden’s leadership was so helpful…” is a good piece of evidence that today leftism is nothing but a bizarre religious faith. This person couldn’t point to a single “helpful” thing. I hear a lot of this. It’s so strange. They see things going to hell and the only thing they can think of is that at least Trump is out.
